The last section of the book, “Why Gnomes Nod”, is what awarded this title an extra half star. While the art in this is fantastic, the lore is wonderfully thought out and kooky… it’s surprisingly sexist. And I’m not just throwing that word around. I mean my jaw was on the ground. There is nudity in this, be warned, and they sexualize the female form far more than is warranted for the situation.
Moderate: Sexism and Misogyny

A fun book written as a complete guide to gnomes and their ways. Nicely illustrated throughout. Very nice!

I wanted to read this book since I was a child. Back then these books were very expensive and so I never got to see it until now. These days you can find them easier at a thrift store. I loved to read about gnomes. I loved the drawings, they are beautiful. I was thinking about things I really have seen in nature, maybe there is a thing like a gnome :-D.

My parents had this book on the coffee table in the family room growing up. I loved this book, I would frequently look at and make up stories, so I suppose it's unfair to say that I've actually read it, I've read parts of it, but probably not the whole thing - the pictures were far to captivating.

LOOOOOOVED this as a kid--full of delightful details about gnomes. A reference books for fantasy dorks, I guess. It's one of the only books I don't have anymore that I wish I did.
