Was this book similar to The Hunger Games series? Yes. You can’t deny it. But this book was still a page turner and kept me engaged throughout the book, to the point where I had to order the next one in the series. Worth the read.
More like 3.5 the more I think about it.
I was quite surprised by this book, it wasn't how I expected it. Did really like it and I would recommend it. I can see why it's been compared to The Hunger Games, but it's really nothing like it. I liked the characters, and although at times it was predictable what would happen, still an enjoyable read. Only thing I would say is that it took me a while to get fully immersed into the story, wasn't sure whether I should be focusing on the plot or the clues we were being given (didn't sort the puzzle out, couldn't be bothered, oops), but otherwise like I've already said - a good book.
Also, when I began reading the book I knew nothing about the controversy surrounding James Frey - only found out halfway throughout reading it, so that made me slightly apprehensive, but had to separate the art from the artist in this case, I've already purchased the book, would've been kind of too late.

Honestly, if I could give this zero stars and have it count as a rating, I would. This book was not good. The writing was blunt, redundant, and flat-out BORING. The gore was OVER the top (did I really need to hear exactly how the bullet traveled through her body? No. No I didn't.), and it was a complete Hunger Games ripoff. And I haven't even READ Hunger Games yet. That's how obvious it was. (Not to mention I do not agree with Frey himself and that controversy, but that's a conversation for another day.) I know that Hunger Games was not the first dystopian book--not even close, actually, there were many beforehand. But it is one of the most popular currently and has been for a little bit now, so it is sort of a standard when it comes to dystopian. Besides, this book is a blatant ripoff.

Wow this book was intense. When I first saw it, I thought "Oh cool, a book with a puzzle that you can do on your own? It's interactive??" Of course I'm still excited to play the game, but this book would've gotten me to read it just by the plot alone. It was wild from start to finish. All the Players are so different, and it was so interesting to read from all of their perspectives. The idea of Endgame is both thrilling and absolutely horrifying. I'm so glad that it's only a book, because if this was actually how the world would end I would hope it would happen after I died. It's brutal and straightforward, with plot twists literally everywhere. I loved it!
I wouldn't have put myself through this if this book wasn't a gift..

İşte bu bulmaca yüzünden nükseden ağrıyı fark ettikten sonra, amaaan dedim oku mis gibi kitabını iç kahveni bak keyfine.
