I couldn't do it. I thought I would be able to finish this, but I literally have no motivation to. I was not invested in the story at all...
I feel bad DNF this but I just did not want to force myself to get through it.

Before I start my review, I just want to mention that I do not in any way support James Frey and what he has done. I do not like what the Full Fathom Five stand for at all, but in this case I am separating the work from the author, because I bought the book before I knew about it all, and I was intrigued by the plot.
This was a semi buddy read with TL. She DNF'd in the beginning but I carried on.
This book...

I was so surprised. The beginning was very shaky, badly worded etc, and I was not convinced I was going to carry on. After getting through about 20%, that all changed. I became immersed in this story and I could not put it down. I loved getting to know the characters, and there were so many! I shipped Jago and Sarah so hard, hated Baitsahkan and Maccabee, got irritated by Christopher, pitied Chiyoko and even An a little, it was a whirlwind of emotions with these characters.
The plot is a little similar to THG, undeniably, but there is enough differences to make it unique. I love the idea behind the lines and representing their people. The action is non-stop and so exciting, with the short chapters making it so fast paced. I really really enjoyed it and am looking forward to continuing with the next book.
The lost star is from the beginning being not great, but the rest was brilliant. I would recommend it if you can separate the work from the author.

Despite all the raging controversy re: James Frey, this is a fantastic, fun, smart, clever concept that is NOT Hunger Games. If you can get past Frey and his (lack of) ethics, I highly recommend reading (and playing) this.
Many books have been dubbed as the next this, the next that. And reading the summary alone is like The Hunger Games. But this is worse than the Hunger Games. I still didn't get why they needed to kill each other (yeah it is the twisted rule, but still... why?). I didn't like any of the characters, they are bloodthirsty, maybe I like Chiyoko but And why the clues point to different locations... maybe, just maybe

they need to help each other in order to retrieve a key. I think this series will end in a tragedic-tragedy way.rating: 1.5 stars
I don't even know what to rate this, but its somewhere between a 3 and 4.
So, I got this book only because it was on sale at Target on Black Friday, and I didn't really know what it was, but I'm always willing to give end of the world stories a chance. I did like this book, until I finished it and realized that basically nothing happened. I don't like how kepler22b basically set up the premise of the book as "find these 3 keys, then endgame is over, you win, etc, etc" and the book ends with Sarah getting the Earth Key. It felt so unresolved and I don't like how the cliffhanger was resolved. It doesn't even feel like I get to decide what happens next, because we weren't given enough information. There was also so much buildup with Hilal and Aisling figuring out that they basically were causing the world to end and then nothing happened, except saying that the world was going to end. Like, I want a book of the remaining Players working together to try to stop the end of the world. That would be great. The fact that the whole book is only a search for one key makes it kind of slow, despite the fact pacing if that makes any sense, and very drawn out. Maybe if they had gotten to two out of three keys, then the book ended on a cliffhanger I wouldn't be so disappointed. Despite hating the ending, the book did keep me interested. I love small chapters, that revolve from character to character, so I was very in my element. I loved Jago, favorite character by far. Overall, the book was engaging and interesting, and I like the plot line, I just wish that the book didn't leave so many things unresolved. It sort of took away from all of the good things in the book, because none of the good things actually went to completion (unless you count Chiyoko and An's little thing, although I really don't)

Really good read. I have to say Christopher was stupid to go after her and I should have know that he would be killed, but what a twist to see how he got killed!!! He did last a lot longer than I thought he would. Definitely will look into reading the next book!
the book in a whole was really good. I enjoyed the action, the way the author wrote, and the whole main idea was really creative. However i HATED the ending.
I was surprised when I ended up realy enjoying this book. It really made you want to keep reading. Lots of really intense scenes which were written very well. It was a bit slow to start of with and it was quite hard to keep remembering each of the characters and where they were up to in the storyline. I also found it difficult to differentiate between point of views and there was sometimes multiple in each paragraph. I loved how we got perspective of the antagonist characters as well as the ‘hero’ characters. I say antagonist and hero lightly though because there wasn’t specifically a main character. Although some may say the plot line isn’t particularly original(I can agree with that) I think that the characters in this book are really interesting and is what really got me into the book
I rarely write reviews but I just have to say something to save someone their precious time being wasted on something as terrible as this book.
A lot of reviews pointed out the massive amount of poves and how poorly they were handled, in addition to the terrible character development. Let's not forget the romance that really didn't make any sense. I didn't even feel bad anytime a character died. I didn't smile, wasn't excited, read 3 other books while reading Endgame because I couldn't focus or care to finish it, and when I did finish it, I was so happy because a burden was finally out of the way. Seriously, terrible.
The thing that pissed me off was the Arabic named person whose name implied that he's Muslim but he's really a multi religious practicer, which even in a fiction book was very insulting to me as an arabic Muslim. I've seen a lot of bullshit being written about us on so many ignorant ways, but THIS! This is by far the most insensitive, ignorant, insulting thing that I have ever read. If you want to create a new world with new gods, do not, I repeat, do NOT cross lines that you do not know how to handle correctly. If you want to demolish religions in a novel, just don't. Create, do not insult or demolish.
I've seen some Australians getting pissed off at the character that ends its sentences with "mate". I was pissed as fuck too.
And oh how about the cliche that the American won the first key? Very very surprising!
Let's not forget that he killed off the most interesting character in his entire book in a single line in the last chapter. This ended it for me.
Just save yourself the time and don't read this. Trust me!
