Very similar to the James Harriot books except dealing with medicine instead of Veterinarians.
Just a very enjoyable town tale with a loose plot and good Irish vibes.

This was not my usual type of book, but I found it to be lovely. I've laughed out loud more than once. It's clear that having his medical license is not nearly enough to make Barry Laverty a true country doctor. The story is full of amusing anecdotes and creates the picture of a charming Irish country village in the mid 1960's.

Enjoyable book, quirky, funny entertaining! Audiobook made it good!
I think fans of All Creatures Great and Small or Mitford will really enjoy this series. I wasn't terribly invested in the characters, but it delivers the small town doctor anecdotes one would expect.
