This is not a good book but it was hilarious and perfect for what I was looking for. B rated creature feature in novel format.

I would say, don't read MEG: Origins before reading this. There's no real point to it.
This book on the other hand was a fun read. It had been on my to-read list for a long time and I finally got to read it and as fun as it is, it's only okay.
It reminded me of the Jaws 2 and Jaws: The Revenge novelisations with that b movie type style and many similar shark antics happening but it's not written nearly as well as either of those books. They're all B movie material but those two reach for A movie but this sadly stays b movie, with stereotyped cliched characters and frankly goofy moments it stopped it from being anything but okay.
I still look forward to the next one.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were written snarky and the narrator totally nailed it. Very glad I decided to give it a try!

It was rather misogynistic in parts and sometimes the language was rough, the romance came out of no where and the women weren't written very well.
Aside from these things it was so easy to read, I flew through it in one day and the action was really great. I'm not sure how accurate it is scientifically speaking but if you can put that aside it was an entertaining story.
