Low 4.
So yes, I picked up the book because I heard about the movie coming out. I was very curious. I got a silly story vibe from the movie so wasn't really expecting much here.
I had a blast with this book. This was so crazy and so entertaining!
I was really impressed with the ride this took me on.
It is a short, easy read with short chapters. Couldn't put it down once I started, especially the last part of the book.
I loved how it was written. It was so easy to see what these characters were seeing. It was creepy. It was funny. It would make my jaw drop. It was action packed! Ha ha.
I loved the constant, different points of views (especially the Meg's). It was very cool and helped add to the visualizing.
This normally isn't my type of story and some of it was a bit too ridiculous for my taste but like I said this was a blast and just so unexpected.
I would recommend this.
I am super excited for the movie now, though I can tell it will be very different from the book.
I'm glad I own this book and will definitely read again and would love to continue with the series.

Enjoyable to read. Technical but accessible. Would read it again.

I'll be honest, I didn't know this book existed even after I watched The Meg almost two years ago. Then I saw it was available in Netflix, I watched it, then looked it up, then I saw this book. I was like whaaaaat? It was a book all along?! Then the rest is history.
Few points I'd like to make, there were barely sexual scenes here just incase you wanna know. When I said 'barely', I meant it was hinted. On another note, there was too much head-hopping, but in this case, I wasn't as confused as I thought I would be. What's cool about that is, you'd get too read about the Meglodon's POV. This was so cool to read about especially that part where the dilemma enters.
The Meglodon's sudden existence in the food chain will disrupt the fishing industry for years to come but they can't exactly kill it because it'll be what, animal abuse and the chances to study a pre-historic animal, on that note, what else could be there? Also, the Meglodon that is in this book is female. A female, pregnant, meglodon. Let that sink in.

I really enjoyed this one! I have yet to see the movie so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was full of action and the hint of romance was a really nice touch. Seeing the dynamics between the characters was interesting but I did think a few of the relationships fell a bit flat with the information the reader has.
Overall, I was half expecting a Jaws rip-off but I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up reading it all in one sitting and I'm really excited to read the next book in the series!

Yup, this book turned out to be not very good. I was excited about the shark, but I couldn't get past how dumb all the characters were to watch the shark eat them all.
