The pacing, the woven intricacy, the movie snippets are all *chief’s kiss*. Our author knows just how much back story they need to give the character for you to like them and feel honestly sad for their demise. Seeing Gothel as a heartbroken woman trying to do right by her sisters is somewhat gut wrenching. You want to root for her but you know her beloved sisters would never love the person she had become. I think any Disney fan should read this series as they would, too, enjoy the retelling of some of our favorite fairytales.
