This Mother Gothel origin story is book 5 in the Villains story.
I loved that the last part of the book is basically scenes taken directly from Tangled. Although I did enjoy my read, I'm getting tired of the Odd Sisters. They have been there since the beginning, and they play such a big role in all of the villains' stories that I feel that this series is more about then than itnis about the villains I actually do care about... You do have to read this series in order as there is an overarching plot, and all of the stories are connected, so you will be lost if you don't.

Guys. I was fa-reaking out when I dove into Mother Knows Best. Now after reading it? Well, you all shouldn't be surprised if I end up disappearing for the rest of the day. Why? Wellllllllllll, it means I'm sitting on my couch, eating popcorn, and watching some Disney movies.

Specifically Tangled due to this book.

Diving into Gothel, it just made me really sad what she went through. I mean so much betrayal and death surrounded this girl at a young age. Then I just kept waiting for the Odd Sisters to show up and make a mess of things. Which they certainly did but now they are currently sitting in the dark and I'm so intrigued to dive into the next book.

Besides all of that, I really liked getting to see new characters in Rapunzel's life. It was interesting to see them taking care of her at a young age and she was free to go outside and play in the flowers. I was still, however, waiting for the shoe to drop and for Gothel to take her to the tower. Luckily, Flynn was there to save the day and I just couldn't help falling back in love with these two.

In the end, I'm so excited to see what Circe will do in the next one.

The beginning of Gothel's story was interesting and the telling of it was timed well. When Rapunzel was introduced to the story is when the story became rushed. It was a sped up version of the movie Tangled.
Also, I am getting tired of the Odd Sisters and their storyline.

This book changed my perspective on Tangled so much, it’s my favourite film and reading this made me think so much.
