Enjoyed this book, the plot was interesting and I enjoyed the way the book finished. There was a small part of the plot that just made you wonder how some one could live with themselves.

Overall, I really did enjoy this book. I think Liane Moriarty usually writes interesting characters, though after I read Apples Never Fall I had to take an extended break from her because that book was terrible. But her cast in this was fairly well-developed, and I enjoyed the flawed and realistic personalities they had.

The plot was a bit dull for a while at the beginning, and then took a bit of a dip in the middle, but the mystery was compelling. It was rather predictable, but Moriarty’s writing really makes up for a lot of the lulls in the plot, as the characters are consistently developing.

Some things I didn’t like:
- Lack of explanation for why Rachel disliked Lauren so much… it just seemed that she didn’t like Lauren because she was alive? And I could get that if explained, but I never felt like that strand was fleshed out well enough to make sense.
- The very, very repetitive fatphobia that got very old very fast.
- Lastly, the thin and mostly irrelevant connection of Tess to the rest of the characters. She was really just there, and she added no significance to the main plot line. I liked her story, yes! But it didn’t really feel like it belonged to this book.

3.5/5 rounded down

Erg voorspelbaar.

A bit slow in the second half but the best epilogue I've ever read.

3.5⭐️
I enjoyed this, it didn't absolutely grab me throughout but I kind of loved/hated that last chapter filled with all the what could-have-beens. Again, loving reading some Australian literature! Got me keen to read a few more of Liane Moriarty's books!

WOW, this was an edge of your seat, mouth open, page turner. I kept thinking I knew what the husbands secret was. but I was always wrong. Just when you thought the secret would be revealed the chapter would end and new characters would be discussed. It was fun to see how the characters would begin to intertwine as the story went on. Had a little bit of a twilight zone/Pandora's box feel to it at the end. You don't want to skip the Epilogue.

Listening. Deciding which audiobook to choose and picked this one because Caroline Lee is a superb narrator!

Ok - probably 4 1/2 but giving it an extra bump for wonderful narration. Somewhat hackneyed but I still enjoyed it very much.

A summer page-turner. Good airport reading. Bit too catholic for me.
