I loved this book ESP the epilogue!!!!

Great story line. But, too much extra "stuff" going on that I just didn't care about. Once I finally figured out the big secret I skimmed and skipped to the end just to be done with it, because the extra "stuff" was boring me.

The Husband’s Secret really impressed me! I picked it up as a light read after Game of Thrones, but this was definitely deep. The themes of grief and guilt were incredibly well-done and the characters felt very grounded in reality. I really liked Celia’s and Rachel’s story lines. They could have carried the story alone and it probably would have been a 5 star. Tess was the other narrator we follow, who wasn’t as enjoyable. I liked her introductory “issue” with her husband falling in love with her best friend, but after she started her affair with Connor(?) (I believe this was his name) my interest in her REALLY dropped off. I thought it was INTERESTING how Tess went back with her husband, considering they both cheated on each other? And I don’t believe in sticking in a seemingly unhappy marriage just for a child. Either way, the storylines of Rachel and Celia interconnecting with each other was REALLY well done and I really liked how everything was wrapped up in their story. The book wasn’t afraid to dig into sensitive topics of grief, morning, hatred, and loss. Really well done!

I just could not get into it. I did not enjoy the story or how it was written. I kept getting distracted while reading because I was just not feeling the story. However, people
do really like this book so I would say just see for yourself if you would read it.

My favorite of all Liane's books.

This was a soap opera of a book and there's nothing wrong with that. New drama on every page is a perfectly fine way to write a tale and it scratches a certain itch. This is the kind of book I read when I want to mostly shut my brain off and relax. My main reason for the three-star rating is that the plot felt too contrived for my tastes. That's mostly my thoughts on the ending which was, well, let's just say it felt unfulfilling and leave it at that.

Still the writing is fine and I found the character's struggles interesting. If this is your genre of choice, you'll probably love it. I certainly don't think this was a waste of time, it's just not a story that I ever see myself revisiting.
