Literary non-fiction at its finest. This story of the young group of boys who started a resistance is captivating, and will definitely inspire those who read it. Would be great to use for high schoolers studying WWII as a supplemental text or book group selection.
An interesting book about the Danish resistance movement during WWII. I didn't know as much about this aspect of the war, so I learned a lot. It was really cool that the author was able to interview one of the leaders of the Churchill Club before he died.
An anecdotal historic story of Knud Petersen and the Churchill Club- the youngest Nazi resisters. Very interesting to read how they accomplished great acts of sabotage, endured prison, and lived their life after the war.

A fantastic read especially for middle school history teachers -- this book offers no shortage of compelling text, images, and other resources for students to explore. I could not put it down.
I loved this book. I'm thankful that Phillip Hoose was able to communicate with Knud and tell this story before this amazing piece of history is lost. I would love to visit Denmark and see the museum that holds items from the Churchhill club or visit Knuds Art lending library, what brave souls these young men were and how Denmark might have been if not for them.
Really interesting and accessible narrative nonfiction. Students would enjoy it.
What a great book! I had never heard of the Churchill Club before, but it was fascinating to hear how teen boys started the Danish resistance of Germany during WW2.
I had never heard this story of World War II before, and it is an important one that should be more well known. I liked how the narration switched between the author and Knud Pedersen's recollections - the first person accounts truly brought their story to life.
