i still ate this up but the ending??

While it took me a little bit to get into this book, I ended up really liking it. This book is a quick read with short chapters, which I LOVE! I found this book difficult to get into because of Jason's controlling nature and the extent to which he kept Amy from her family and friends. I have had friends who have dated "that guy" and I am not a fan of that personality type.

However, once Amy left to go on the cruise, I was hooked. She began to relax, enjoy herself, and make new friends. There were so many twists and turns that I found myself needing to know how the plot would play out. I did not anticipate the ending and enjoyed how the story ended. All the different scenarios I imagined never materialized and I would not have it any other way! I highly recommend this book.

This could have been a 3 star read had the plot not been so far-fetched in the end. This book started off solid but quickly fell off into nonsense. Why are all the women so Patriarchal that they won’t even listen? It honestly makes no sense

WOW!!! 5 stars all the way! A great psychological thriller that captured my attention right from the start. What appears to be finding Mr. Right for Amy Logan after a tragic accident quickly changes into something totally opposite. Shortly after her marriage to Jason, Amy finds herself in a abusive relationship where she is becoming a prisoner in her own home. Catering to her husband’s every twisted demand and without success... Amy becomes desperate to find a way out. Once an opportunity to get away presents itself, Amy is all in! What happens next is a courageous attempt to get out, away from living in fear and regain one’s lost life.

The story progresses at a good pace with many unexpected twists and turns. The author also does a fabulous job with character portrayals and the difficult subject matter of spousal abuse. I actually had a hard time putting this book down! This was my first time reading Nicola Sanders and it will not be my last!

Thank you BookSirens & Nicola Sanders for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Decent

The story dulled a little in the middle of it, but it was a very easy read. The twist at the end was unexpected!

I enjoyed reading this book, but I feel like the ending was very rushed and there were too many unanswered questions. That ruined it a little bit.

For such a short book, it felt so long. So. Much. Gaslighting. It was painful to listen to honestly. The real Liz was the only truly real likable character, in my opinion. Amy did what she needed to do I suppose and was always surrounded by horrible gaslighting people. The book lagged on but the ending came and went so quickly! Not my fav read.
