Some of the story seemed very quick and the way we would find out huge plot points felt rushed and glossed over. I sort of wish the spice was spicier, but it was pretty good for the most part. But, I liked the tropes in it (forbidden(ish) love, “touch her and die”, strong FMC, mafia). It was kind of like eating fast food- it tastes really good in the moment but it was short lived.

Wildly unexpected.

I can honestly say this book caught me by surprise. I go into my books completely blind and was expecting a contemporary romance. Surprise! 😂
If you’re about my age you probably grew up listening to Avril Levine’s “Sk8rboi” song. This book encompasses that song, but instead of a skateboarding dude, you get yourself a mobster.

Cat is SO naive in this story, that at times it physically pained me. But at the end of the day, this book is very well done, and absolutely worth while.

Super hot and suspenseful.
I did the audible and the two narrators were great.

There were twist I didn't see coming, which I appreciate so much.
Lots of dirty sex talk which I reeeealllly appreciate.

I highly recommend if you are wanting Mafia Romance!
