I could have sworn I read House of M but I guess not. I read Avengers Dissembled and then skipped over house of M and just read some individual x-men type titles.

So we all know what comes from House of M. "No More Mutants" the famous words utter by Scarlet witch, the power force of the Marvel Universe, and like The Flash, can alter and fuck up the entire universe. She can alter reality. That's what House of M is actually about. Scarlet Witch is going nuts, like not able to control her OWN reality, and begins to alter other ones. So the X-Men and Avengers decide they have to do something. This worries quicksilver and he runs to tell his sister she has to run, escape their clutches, or she'll die.

Then it happens. She alters reality and BOOM we're in a whole new world. A world I'd actually like to revisit one day. Peter Parker grows up without losing Ben and Gwen and has a baby boy. Wolverine becomes the new Nick Fury. Luke Cage...well he becomes a undercover cop. See the world is supposed to be what the character want or hope for, and everyone seems happy. Then when they begin to snap out of it they know who's behind it and decide to do something about it.

Good: The storyline is super fun in my honest opinion. I love "what if" universes and this was great to see how the characters could so radically be different. I also loved wolverine in this, and I usually dislike him. Peter has to deal with some dark shit in here and it also works really well. Amazing Bendis is Peter's best writer even for the 616 version. Also how awesome was Magneto in here? His last few pages are great. I also liked that this had big after effects after done.

Bad: The art wasn't all that great at times. The covers are fucking wonderful but the inner coloring is a bit off and rough at times. I also thought a little exposition heavy at the end. We got that the mutant race was in trouble no need to explain to us that it is. You can just show it.

Overall, this might be one of my favorite events ever. Super fun, solid dialog, lots of great moments from characters I usually don't care for (Wolverine/Magneto) and the "what if" world is pretty awesome. So yeah, super enjoyable. I'd give it about a 3.5 but I'ma hit it to a 4 for rating system cause usually events don't work for me!

Not sure if there is more to this story or not...
I bought and read the ultimate edition of House of M and was especially excited because a friend had recommended it. I read it quickly, as I was very intrigued to see where the story would end up. However, when I got to the end... I was expecting more, at least in regards to tying everything up.
Wanda utters 'No more mutants' and *voila* everyone wakes up back in their normal reality, only this time, the mutants are losing their powers. But... not all of them? Also, where was Wanda at the end? What had happened to Charles Xavier? How long were these characters living in the reality made up by Wanda until they realized it was wrong? I could go on. It was questions like these that kept me interested in reading the story, excited to see the conclusion. But alas... nothing. The answers to my questions, like the mutants at the House of M's ending, became nonexistent. Which is why I would have loved to have given House of M a higher rating, but truly cannot.

Source material for new doctor strange movie : I have no idea where the story continues after this : seeing all the superheroes in one comic book was cool : the story itself was also unique : especially the part that they get what they want but since it’s not morally correct, they try to fix it

I think I am finally getting a good sense of how comic books work. This one was pretty good. But, like always, I am trying to evaluate it as a novel, which it isn't. As much as I loved them, comic books don't have the same character development, plot structure or nice round endings as most of the novels I read.

Trying to catch up on the last 10+ years of X-Men comics and figured House of M is a good place to start. I love Bendis, and the arc itself was alright... more interesting conceptually than its execution. Felt a little too similar to "Age of Apocalypse" though. The core series was "solid" and the Spider-Man and Wolverine stories were great, but a lot of the tie-ins were boring. "No more mutants" was chilling though. 3/5

This was brilliant.

Really enjoyed this! A relatively quick read and a good semi stand alone comic. I haven’t read a lot of x men so this will be my stepping off point!

*MINOR SPOILERS IN MY REVIEW*

I enjoyed reading House of M. It was fun for me and it's multiplied my excitement for WandaVision. Even though I enjoyed this comic, there were a few things that I wanted to be explored more.

1.) I would have liked to spend more time in the minds of Wanda, Magneto, and Pietro.
2.) I would have liked to see more discourse between the heroes about whether they should actually go back to their previous lives vs living the ones that they have in this reality. (Some of them like Spiderman actually have tangible things in this world that they can't get rid of like children. I just would have liked to hear the opinions of the heroes more and really think about what life they wanted more: this idyllic one or their real painful ones? I felt like that wasn't talked about at all and I would have loved to see them debate that. )
3.) I would have loved to see more detailed action scenes where we could really see the characters fight and use their powers.

Overall, I enjoyed the story but I felt like some things were missing. To be honest, I didn't feel emotionally invested in the characters and that's something that I wanted the most. Also, I felt like the story moved to fast. There wasn't much time devoted to each scene to be fleshed out and fully felt. Anyways, I look forward to seeing the differences between the show and the comic.

3/5 stars

*One last thing: I don't mind a comic ending on a cliffhanger but I want a clear view on what I need to read next. I know that there are comics following House of M but I don't want to read another 10+ issues trying to piece together what happens next. Just give me one (maybe two) issues/collections to find out what happens next.

A fantastic story in the X Men universe with great art to go with. You follow the majority of the marvel big wigs trying to figure out what to do with the scarlet witch who has just killed a few of her fellow avengers. It does feel rushed in the middle portion but this is fleshed out more in the other house of m books. If you are an X Men fan, this is a must read.
