Enjoyable read about a man with a phenomenal mindset and amazing achievements given his background and upbringing. The self help bits were pretty cringe but agree with most of the underlying message and am sure a lot of people would benefit from it.
That being said, I think the focus on being "better" than everyone else isn't the healthiest. I'd also have liked more insight into life outside sports, eg both of his marriages breaking down. 3.5 rounded down.

Listen, the writing is bad. And that's with a ghostwriter (who is, at least, named in the acknowledgments). I wasn't expecting literary prose but there is no attempt to hide that this book was self-published.
And just like it would have benefited from a major edit, Goggins would probably benefit from some major therapy. That's my biggest takeaway.
