Frustratingly motivational. If you can tolerate the redundancy of the first half, then second half is worth it.
Changed my life not gonna lie. Such an amazing book, highly, highly would recommend it. I've heard the original is kind of annoying to read cuz of the cuss words, I have the clean version and it feels really well and professionally written, so if you're not comfortable with cuss words go for the clean version. It's very very good.

Genuinely one of the best books I've ever read. Easily the most inspiring. Makes me want to get out and run an ultra.
But beneath the surface of his motivational hard exterior, Goggins has become immensely wise. Each chapter expresses an invaluable timeless truth. Conveyed through a riveting story of his life that makes this book more of a page turner than most thriller novels.
David Goggins has brute forced wisdom and it shows. The books is an insanely potent mix of inspiration, wisdom, and actionable tactics to apply both of these.
It comes around so well to perfect conclusions and endings. His discussions on failure as well as the amazing ending where he comes to terms with his past and let's go of all judgements and realises peace and tranquillity is the ultimate conclusion just dripping with philosophical lessons.
For all his hardness this book is incredibly humble and teaches subtle lessons about pushing yourself to grow, but in a safe and sustainable way. Its not about becoming a crazy masochistic machine, in fact it is quite counter to that approach. It teaches you how to live a rich, meaningful life through the embrace of struggle and suffering. How to break down your limits and live a life of new possibilities. All in an incredibly practical, sustainable, humble way.
I cannot recommend this book more.

Goggins is evidently one of the most hardcore individuals on the planet, what is fascinating is Goggins's individual drive to go above and beyond at every opportunity possible. Even within the Navy Seals, Goggins reaches a point where they are not hardcore enough for him.
What I took away from this book is that you can push yourself harder than you can imagine and that there is always more you can do or achieve, and to battle your mentality, and psychology and achieve the goals you want to achieve.
Notes:
Triple down on your insecurities (If you have already deep-dived into them, how can they hurt you?)
You know your mind and weaknesses, use that, use your bias and correct
Drive forward
You're the hero
Don't accept comfort
Accountability mirror - be raw and real, get over problems - dirty mirror reveals it all
Call yourself out, be real get out there
Alligator skin - accept problems and solve them
See an obstacle and keep going never give up
Envisage yourself as rocky, goodwill hunting etc
Risking asking people out, talking to people, making small changes
Do things that make you uncomfortable
Make your weaknesses your strength
