the story is brilliant, admirable
unfortunately I gave up on the last 100 pages
I think I got the point.

Eh, this one was one of those books where it felt like the same point was essentially repeated for a few hundred pages. David Goggins' story is one that is unique and facinating, but I don't really think he gave the best advice as he told his story. People do have limits. You can't just push your body mindlessly and suddenly become a star athlete. Injuring yourself because of poor decisions is definitely a possibility. Towards the end of the book he touches on this, but I think there should have been more mention of it.
I also tired of his ego. For example, he said things like: "I was mining for diamonds in the rough like me" and other egotistical comments. Ah well, not too big a deal. I still learned a thing or two from this book and some of Goggins' advice is definitely rock-solid.
If you want to read a book that covers similar topics but in my opinion handles it better, I would recommend Dan Crenshaw's Book "Fortitude".

A very promising beginning but after childhood it's a story about a person who doesn't do any prior research and tries to win contests just to prove that he is different from everyone else. And that you can push your body as long as you have mental strength, even after 2 heart attacks? I would say it's some bad advice. Also, the author is using sexist slur a lot.
I have gathered everything I need from the book, and trying to finish it just feels forceful.
