This book put it into words struggles, feelings, excuses, and doubts that I have never before had the words for.

Goggins’  idea in the afterword will stick with me for a long time; when you sit in front of God before the gates of heavens, how would you feel if he showed you what life would have been like if you lived at the peak of your potential, but you hadn’t reached it?

I recognised something that has been bubbling inside me for a few weeks: the idea that I am living very far below my potential, that each day I am just getting by and not aspiring.

I have succeeded greatly academically. As of today I believe that chapter will close in just over two weeks, when my certificate of achievement is handed to me.

I will choose a next challenge, something new to overcome. And my body is my target.

Such an interesting and inspiring book

Second time read, I enjoy the Goggins mindset and I read this book to kick off the new year. I think it was more impactful to me during the first read; there wasn’t as much juice to squeeze (for me) in a second read. Love the story though and the Goggins mindset has its place for sure.

Although the message is inspiring and im all for pushing your limits in every single part of life I did not enjoy the military highlight as only a way to push your physical limits. I am not a fan of mostly US military, so it became hard to connect to that part of the story. Plus this type of life is not sustainable to anyone. The book was also not the best written and the chapters were sometimes confusing in its order.

Took a really long time to get going.

Incredible book.

It was even better to listen to the audio version with David’s comments on each chapter.

A book to go back to regularly.
