An absolutely lovely book and a definite recommendation from me to everyone!
I read an abridged version as a child and I must say it didn't do any justice to the actual book. It's one of those books that are so wonderful that they just warm your soul and will always have a special place in your heart.

My second read!
And i think no matter when and how many times I read it, it will always feel like coming home ❤️
Anne resembles the innermost child that everyone has in them.
Your heart aches for the hardship the different characters have to go through, starting with Mathew, Marilla and Anne.

This is everything that is good and happy in the world combined into one book. A part of me is crushed that I'd not picked up this book until this year, but, on further reflection, I think this was a brilliant time to read the series. Honestly, being reminded of pure, unbridled happiness during a time when I'm experiencing so much burnout and fatigue is something that I highly appreciated. Life is so beautiful, nature is so beautiful, and it's so lovely to be curious about the world.
Avonlea is officially my happy place.
P.S. does anyone know where I can find a Gilbert Blythe of my own? Where can one apply to get a childhood rival who grew up along with me and is my intellectual equal? Totally just asking for scientific purposes, and nothing more.

fantastic work, very touching. ive laughed and cried and one can really see Anne maturing throughout the book. i will most certainly continue the series because im dying to read about Gilbert and Anne's friendship! ive been waiting for them to make up this whole time. the chapters spent at the Queen's and the concert bits i found boring and not quite the same as the ones back at Avonlea. sometimes there are repetitions and i wish some things couldve been explored deeper or done a little differently but it was overall amazing
