Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review! I loved doing a deep dive on the world of community theatre and absolutely adored the setting to this one!

This book is a romance book set in the world of theatre. Two of my absolute favorite things.  It’s no wonder that I was so charmed by it. I loved our protagonist Rosie. She was what an adult theatre kid looks like. I found her struggles to be so relatable and I found her tenacious spirit to be infectious. She was a really great main character to follow.

I also LOVED that the book was set in a retirement community. It made the musical storyline so much more interesting, envisioning how it would be putting on a production with senior citizens. I loved the featured side characters in the community and the overall theme of theatre kids being theatre kids no matter how old they are. It was super special.

I also found the romance to be really fulfilling. Booker was a dream of a book boyfriend. He was entirely supportive of Rosie and her dreams and never once wavered on how he felt about her. He was an amazing partner and I found their relationship to be very believable. I wish that this was a spicy romance, but it was still swoon-worthy as a clean one.

Overall, this book gave me all of the good feels that being in a show gives me. I would highly recommend for any theatre kid who loves romance. It was such a fun time!

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh was such a sweet, feel-good read about following your dreams—but also learning that sometimes, those dreams can change and grow along with you. 💫

I absolutely loved Rosie’s character! She was quirky, fun, and full of heart. Watching her navigate life’s ups and downs was such a joy. And her relationship with Booker? So sweet and wholesome! Their connection felt genuine, and I loved seeing how they supported and brought out the best in each other. 💕📚

What I loved most about this book was how Rosie ended up exactly where she was meant to be—even though she couldn’t see it at first. The journey she took was inspiring and so satisfying to watch unfold.

As for the audiobook, the narration was just okay for me—it didn’t take away from the story, but it didn’t add much either.

My favorite modern setting is in a Senior community. This was a charming, fun read. The characters were sweet and memorable. It teaches us a life lesson through Rosie. Perhaps what we thought we wanted was really not what we needed and something much better happens. Uplifting and enchanting, exuberant story. Great narration.

I was blessed with an audio ARC. The opinions expressed are my own and unbiased.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is a fun, cozy story about courage and growth - filled with all the emotions that come with both. Rosie is a struggling actor trying to make it in New York City. Desperate for anything, she accepts a job offer without looking into the details. This marks the beginning of a humorous yet touching journey, and you can’t help but love and root for Rosie as her story unfolds.

Throughout the book, Rosie encounters several people who leave a profound impact on her. One of my favorite quotes comes near the end, when someone offers her this advice:  “Things are never easy - not the things worth anything, anyway.”  I loved how Rosie took the time to reflect and explore the direction her life needed to take - and I was pleasantly surprised by the decisions she ultimately made. The story is filled with thoughtful, relatable life lessons.

I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, narrated by Jorjeana Marie, who did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. Her narration added charm and depth to the characters, enhancing the overall experience.

I give this book 4.5 stars and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, feel-good read that will leave you both laughing and appreciating the depth of the characters. This was my first book by Courtney Walsh, and I can’t wait to read more!

Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, and Courtney Walsh for the advance audio copy!

I’ve read two other Walsh books and this one just adds to the love. I’m definitely firmly a fan.

This story was both sweet with lighthearted moments and fun humor but also with some more profound moments of self reflection and struggles with self confidence and looking deep to figure it all out.

Rosie, as an out of work actress (in NYC), finds herself taking a job (in Wisconsin) that she didn’t fully research which leads to some…interesting surprises. Rosie was such a wonderful character. Determined, brave and far more talented than she gives herself credit for.

Rosie meets Booker (a physical therapist and jack-of-all-trades) at her new job, and while he has issues of his own, he strives to help Rosie by pulling her out of herself to face her hard questions and complicated feelings. Booker…what a sweetheart he is. He’s a good-natured teaser, a good listener and a wise sounding board. He’s the total package, and I fell hard for him in every way but especially for how he treated everyone around him.

I’m very much a character-heavy reader, but when I get not just well-developed mains but also a stellar group cast, I’m totally sold. Call me totally sold.

Very well done.

My sincere thanks to the author, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for providing the free early arc of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie for review. The opinions are strictly my own.

I could only take 1:15:00 of this disaster. The whole hate myself, self-deprecating act used as "never ending humor", got old quick.
It's 2025! Everybody claims that we are about self love and women empowerment.
How are women supposed to move forward and learn to love ourselves when authors still can't create main characters without body, image issues?!? Again 2025! This crap should have phased out in 2020.
This probably turned out to be a nice story.
However, having to listen to the character repeat how she is a failure over and over again was/is offputting. No swearing. Not a fan of the narrator.

You can't go wrong when it comes to Courtney Walsh. Her stories are fun, romantic, and just plain delightful. In her latest, Everything's Coming Up Rosie, readers quickly fall in love with Rosie, a failed Broadway actress given the opportunity to lead a theater production of Cinderella for a retirement community. This heartfelt story is full of second chances and hope - not to mention a tender romance. This novel was an absolute delight to read!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

4.25⭐️ Cute, easy read. The quirkiness of Rosie was everything!! Booker just letting her be herself and totally into it was so sweet. Can’t wait to read more from Courtney Walsh.

5⭐️ narration from @jorjeanamarie_ !! You made Rosie come to life; and I felt all her grief of not feeling good enough, her determination to do better for everyone/herself, and the absolute gems of sassiness and quirkiness.

Rosie just wants to be an actor and pay her bills. So, she is on the hunt for a job and to be a real adult. When an opportunity to direct a production of Cinderella becomes available, Rosie has no other options. She doesn’t expect it to be the theatre of a retirement community and everyone auditioning is from said community. Leading her first production since college won’t be her only challenge. Rosie will have to win over the hearts of the retirees and save the theatre. Can she prove herself to everyone and herself?

Thank you @netgalley, @thomasnelson, @zondervan, and @courtneywalsh for the opportunity to have an advance listener copy.
