Truly Madly Guilty

This book just reeeeaaallly seemed to drag on for me. I have read a few of her other books and this has been my least favorite of them for sure. There were small things I could relate to/appreciate in each character, and other things that really frustrated with me with both main characters story lines, which isn’t a deal breaker but made the whole on going story just seem to drag on even more for me. Honestly, the character/story line that I felt the most emotional reaction to was Harry’s and he was not really a main character. I think she could have told the story in fewer pages and maybe I would have enjoyed it more.

Another great, twisty story by Moriarty! This one is more about what the readers don’t know than the characters themselves…except for a few lost/forgotten moments that are eventually revealed to complete the story.

(YAWN)

After a valiant effort, I gave myself permission to stop reading this book. It should be noted that I've done this less than half a dozen times in 49 years. That's how dull it was. It's my strong belief that if you're bored it says more about you than about anything else. I'm officially suspending that mantra worth respect to this book. It inspires no curiosity, commissions no loyalty, and the only tension it creates is the desire to GET ON WITH THINGS FOR GOD SAKE. There. You see? I've been impassioned to use all caps. And that's more excitement than you'll get out of this book. If you're expecting Big Little Lies...don't. Not only isn't it that good, even Big Little Lies isn't *that* good. If you appreciate mediocre exploration into a character's mind then, by all means, read away.

I did not love it. Nor did I think it was as clever and well written as Big Little Lies.
