The last 1/3-1/4 of this book really outshone the rest. In general I'm not a fan of mysteries because of the build-build-BUILD-then-reveal formula-- and I still don't like that in her books. It just feels like the author is in on a novel-long inside joke the whole time. And this book suffers from that for most of the novel, but the "reveal" is given early enough to let it unpack more by the end.

My least favorite of her books that I've read so far. Never really connected with the characters and hardly even liked them. Vid and Tiffany would have made it a lot more interesting as main characters instead of secondary characters.
DNF. Reading audiobook. Too many things are the same as nine perfect strangers. Made it 20% and I was bored.
This book pulled me in over and over again. Good plot twist!!
This book as excruciatingly painful to read. I just wanted to find out what happened at the freaking barbecue, so I continued to read until I couldn't bear it anymore. The story is told in chapters that alternate between "post-barbecue" and "day of barbecue." It feels totally contrived, with no real flow.
I really love this author, she knows how to write a riveting story about interpersonal relationships.
Felt it was a bit slow to start with but by the end I was keen to find out more about what happened!
