First of all, yes, I actually finished the book this time as I've left too many books unfinished lately and I wanted a month where I could say that I finished everything that I read. I spend good amount of the last half looking at the page numbers constantly reminding myself that I was almost done, but I finished it.
Magic Bites: dear god how I hate you. let me count the ways.
1. The romantic interest that the ending suggest you're leading up to is an arrogant dick, and most of the characters aside from the main character are that way as well.
2. You're quite short, which you apparently decided to make up for by being extremely boring in the last half of your pages.
3. The dissapointment I felt after the first half. I've been looking for a long time for an Urban Fantasy Romance title that I can enjoy for unironic reasons for most of the book. I was enjoying the first half despite the book going on and on about a Deaddead vampies ballsack for a few pages, and if most of the second half was taken out, I'd probably gives this book 2 more stars.
Oh and to any fans of Kate Daniels and are reading this, please don't take it personally. I'm happy that you got joy of something that I can't, and I hope the series continues for a long time so you can continue to enjoy it. Just like if you're not a Dresden Files fan, I'd hope that you'd be happy for me for enjoying the series.

Fun to read. VERY crescent city urban dystopian vibes (yes I know this book came first) which is not my personal favourite vibe but was well done for the genre. I look forward to reading more.

Rereading this for the third time… and it’s still just amazing! I love Kate—she’s powerful, both mentally and physically, and honestly, she’s who I want to be when I grow up. LOL.
Knowing where the series goes makes revisiting the beginning even better. I needed a book I could play on speaker, and since I already knew what was going to happen, this was the perfect choice. Now I’m itching to reread the entire series…

People have been telling me about this series for YEARS! I'm so mad I waited so long to check it out, but I am so thankful I finally did!
