This was actually a very good read. It was slow to start, but ended with a bang. The writing somehow reminded me of "Mike Hammer"... some of the the things Kate thought or said had a real gum-shoe feel to it.

Finally picked this up after Curran's been on every Hot Heros list ever, didn't quite see it in this book, but the following ones, MMMMMMMMM. I am loving this series.

Wonderful

I had forgotten what a glorious novel this was. Includes are all sorts of interesting treats that add to the enjoyment.

It started slow for me and i kept dropping it for sth else but in end i forced myself to read it and I’m happy that i did it from midway through the end the book pick up the pace and i read it in a breeze.Kate humor and sassy remarks even sth when she should have kept her mouth shut was amusing to no end.curran wasn’t bad but I wasn’t impressed with him either.

Enjoyed this, a lot! Action is quick, characters are interesting, and the world is well-conceived. Looking forward to reading more in the series.

This book took some warming up to for me. She strikes me as trying to be a female Harry Dresden, which initially put me off. By the end of the book I was racing through it though, so I'm excited to start the next book in the series. Hopefully we find out more details about how this weird magic/tech world works!
