I absolutely loved this book, I started it on the train this morning, and finished it on the way back! It was so beautifully written and flowed so well. I will definitely be recommending to friends!!

I was drawn to this one for the pretty pink colour on the cover, and then spotted the “guaranteed 5-star read” sticker and went in with high hopes. It was catchy and fast paced, which I love in a book! Not quite a 5 star read for me, but definitely a well deserved 4 :)
This isn’t the genre I usually read, and I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but I genuinely like it. It was really well written and a bit of a roller coaster in terms of how I thought the plot was going.
This book had the trifector:
1. Insipid female lead with no substance, intelligence or likability
2. Characters who constantly make stupid choices, ultimately making the situation worse for themselves
3. Villain who feels the need to lay out their diabolical plan in specific detail to the hapless victim who… bam-bam-baaam … bests them at the last minute.
Basically this book consisted of a wildly implausible plot with holes the size of monster trucks and two lead characters who pretty much deserved each other. The protagonist stumbles about making piss-poor attempts at revenge while constantly making rookie mistakes and then somehow, miraculously pulls some 007 shit at the end.
I would like to see trigger warnings on some of these books - the female lead is so idiotic you may actually damage your device as a result of uncontrollable urges to hurl it across the room.
Safe to say, I would not recommend.

I came in to this book looking for some deliciously dark revenge. I enjoyed how The Art of War is interspersed with the chapters, it's a nice hook that keeps Taylor's plot moving.
I expected Taylor to be a stronger character though, and her lack of finesse doesn't really fit with her "art of war" plotting. I kind of wanted this to go darker and have Taylor completely rage out, instead of her kind of bratty responses to the fact that her deplorable ex keeps one-upping her. Stuff gets real near the end and the plot definitely ramps up the stakes.

the sunday girl was an easy read. It had me hooked wanting know know what was going to happen next but I found myself annoyed by some of the decisions Taylor made and I also didn't love the ending, it wasn't the most realistic
Taylor Bishop's boyfriend, Angus, breaks up with her. She vows to get revenge, especially after an explicit video is uploaded to the internet. She consults The Art of War, and plans her strategy to get back at Angus. But, Angus begs her forgiveness, and she takes him back. Her mom and her best friend beg her not to do it. Then, when her career is threatened, Taylor begins to wonder if Angus is really in love with her. So, she investigates and searches his apartment, finding things that cause her angst.
I liked this quick novel told in a day by day format. I also liked how Taylor used the strategies of war to strategize her escape from Angus.
