What I liked most about this book was the pace - it felt more like a real peek inside a murder investigation instead of the dramatic highlights of an hour-long procedural. The process of the investigators working on a case without a clear suspect was very interesting. The build-up of the plot gave the proper weight to the work and mental concentration it takes to make sense of the true clues in the ocean of pre-conceived notions, false leads and dead ends.

While the personal side of the main character, Anna Travis, was not a main focus of the book, the tantalizing glimpses into her personal feelings were compelling and added depth to her character.

I will definitely check out additional books in this series.

Really enjoyed this one, anna again worked hard to get a result. I really love how she goes with her hunches and believes in her gut instincts. Great company during home working.

Good British mystery. Lots of suspects and it took quite awhile to whittle them all down. Showed how slow and tedious an investigation can be because of all the small details that have to be checked out. So many people lying kept leading everyone astray. The victim was not a very nice person even if she was a beautiful actress. Did play up some stereotypes about the movie industry. There were several subplots along the way, the fraud that the agent was pulling, the business with drugs and the undercurrent with Anna love life. Didn't really like the big boss stepping in and being such an overbearing person. Didn't like the way he took over and chastised the other detectives and the way he tries to run Anna's life.

Well, I really loved the Prime Suspect Series and LaPlante's writing. This, however, really could have benefited from an editor. There were way too many frilly details that weren't necessary to the plot that basically made this not a fluid read. I'll try another in the Anna Travis series before I'll cut my losses and mourn for more of the Prime Suspect offerings.
