Saxon give a warning before this book starts that some people wouldn't like Xander in the beginning of the book. I didn't take it serious because I've always loved Xander. Then in part 1 of this book he was kind of annoying. I had to push through to get to the good part. The next two thirds of the book are fantastic. They are worth the rest of the read. Another good book Tally mark for Sacon James.

I've been trying and trying to finish this book and I'm finally DNF'ing at 75%. This is not the kind of toxic relationship that I enjoy reading about. Xander needs serious intensive therapy before he could be a good partner in a relationship. Maybe this book is the beginning of that journey for him, but throughout the book so far he has continued to be self-centered and manipulative. Derek told him repeatedly that his whole license is on the line, but Xander doesn't care about that because he's so focused on his own wants. I honestly can't see what Xander brings to this relationship. He even gets jealous when Derek is talking to Molly because he has to have all the attention all the time. This relationship is so unbalanced it's actually a great example of why there are rules around nurses having relationships with their patients.

3.5⭐️ this was a cute end to the series. Although it's always mildly annoying when the main conflict of the entire book is just... irrelevant in the end 🥴
