 5/5 ⭐️ For my feral gremlin (>ᴗ•)

- The last of the Bertha boys happy ever after is finally here. And we got the best for last with this perfect ending for the series which gave me all the feels with the roller coaster of emotions

I have been waiting for Xander and Derek's book since Book 1 of the series. Xander, my beautiful broken boy, is so precious, and I loved how the relationship developed slowly.

- Derek was definitely the rock for our boys here. Seeing the dynamic of all four guys (Seven, Molly, Xander, Derek) was so satisfying. I adore their found family.

Saxon's portrayal of Xander's mental health was very realistic. He wasn't fixed out of the blue, and he had to work through his problems over the years to improve himself.

- Overall this was an amazing story.

What do we get:
✮MM Romance
✮ Lovable MCS
✮Nurse and artist
✮Forbidden romance
✮ Found family
✮ Mental health representation
✮ Age gap
✮Hurt/ Comfort
✮Dual POV
✮ HEA

Some of my favorite things:
-Our bug loving Derek
- Our jealous racoon
- Manny been the best bro
- All the Bertha boys 💗
- Of course always a favorite our grandma and our grumpy orange cat

I can’t believe it’s actually the end. I loved the Bertha boys; and it’s bitter sweet to see this series finish.

I had a love/annoyed relationship with Xander through the series, but I think he finally got his redemption arc.

I liked that this book talked about his mental health, and we saw him get better and struggle through that journey. It wasn’t a quick fix, he didn’t get a boyfriend then all of a sudden his problems went away. It felt authentic!

The tension was so good, the temptation but all the will power Derek needed to resist Xander. He’s soooo pure and wants to protect Xander but can’t be his health care person professionally. So while he wants to, he can’t. So much need and want, but resistance.

Everyone got a happy ending 🤍

We know Xander from this series and he often popped up in times that would infuriate me as a reader. His friends never quivered, he is so precious to them all. We learn how exhausting his life is and that is before even leaving the house. Having so many fears and worries about everyone who means something to him.
Derek is an amazing character, he truly sees Xander. There isn't anything that he wouldn't do for him, except have a relationship; and that is ruled by ethics not his heart. We knew Xander would love big, he has a big heart that becomes tethered to everyone in his life. Being with Xander as he finally gets to experience real touch and understanding that someone really wants him was a special thing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
