DNF for now.
Xander is insufferable. I don’t have the patience for him. Put in some goddamn work to get better instead of whining and feeling entitled to everyone's attention just because you have mental issues.
Maybe I’ll pick it up later when I’ve got more patience and empathy.

First, the cover is freaking gorgeous. And second, the giddy squeal that came out of me when I got my ARC email was almost embarassing

Being in Xander's head was an absolute trip after watching him through the other 4 books. James did a really good job with this one and it put a nice period on the series.
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Xander’s story forever and getting gifted with an ARC was well worth the wait! Ever since I first fell for Christian, this series has only gotten better, but Xander’s HEA was much needed. Seeing glimpses of him with Derek, leading up to them, was so well done and not only did we get to see Derek fall hard and fast but I cannot express how much I loved that he put his own happiness and needs above his desire in a way that was meant to help and it did. Xander’s not magically fixed. He’s not broken but he has a lot of issues that he’s working on and the steps he’s taken… it was extremely well done.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Understanding more about Xander’s mindset, panic attacks, and general thoughts were eye-opening. It’s his esteem, his sense of worth, and his fears and Derek addresses them all very well
2) Aggy… the end of Big Bertha and this series… I bawled like a baby and
3) I cried a lot in this book & it was the perfect end to an amazing series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — if i could give more stars to this one I would
Quote: “But it’s been really f**** hard loving him alone.”
It suddenly occurs to me that I’ve never heard Seven swear before. I’ve also never thought to ask him if he’s okay. I’ve always seen him as this strong, capable force.
Tears spill onto his cheeks, and it makes me realize that I really should have asked. “I’d do anything for Xander, and I’d defend that man to death, but it’s ... it’s a lot. He won’t help him-self, so I’ve been doing it solo for so long. Then I found Molly. That guy’s the strongest man I know. He takes so much of mine and Xander’s crap on, and it all bounces right off him. I think he saved me. Like Xander did once. And now ...” He scrubs at his face. “I don’t know what’s going to happen between you both, but I know you get it. I know that you know exactly what you’re signing up for, and damn, I hope he lets you because, well, I think I need him to.”

honestly, i loved every bit of the journey to get to this point but Xander was the highlight in every installment and I am so grateful to have read him finding a healthy and balanced love with someone who is clear about his boundaries and loving and gentle with Xander’s heart in all the right ways. I feel full with the love of these beautiful fictional Bertha boys.
Well... This was great until he broke his professional ethics. I just can't respect a character who does that. He's supposed to wait 2 years. What is this 4 months bullshit?
