A journeyman's journey through food.

Bourdain has a rockstar quality in how he describes his life of debauchery in a way that fascinates rather than disgusts, and shows his growth from irresponsible kid to responsible, if still a bit uncouth, adult against the backdrop of "the restaurant scene."

I particularly loved the chapters "A Day in the Life" and "The Life of Bryan", both of which provided such painstaking detail into their environments to make it feel as though I lived it.

I probably wouldn’t have read this in print, but it was fun to listen to - especially as it’s read by the author. Bourdain was a great storyteller, and hearing him tell the stories makes it all the better.
