This book did not do it for me. The story was slow, the conflict felt forced, and the stakes were never high enough for me to care.

Also, there were 57 chapters in this book (!!!) and I would conservatively estimate that half of them ended in someone dramatically walking away.

Another reviewer referred to this as a wonderful literary palate cleanser haha but really true. Light and fun. Cheesy and cute and funny super fast read, I don’t even care, I liked it.

This is an abnormal review, but unfortunately, I finished Foolish Hearts over a month ago and read it in such a blur at the time that my memory of it at this point is not sufficient to provide what would usually be a detailed review. I would highly encourage anyone to read this book, however, as it was definitely one of the most touching young adult novels I've ever read. Emma Mills took the premise of high school love and adolescent uncertainty and painted it in this simple, honest light that I really appreciated as a breath of fresh air within this given sub-genre. The friendships, romances, and familial relationships in here were all-in-all incredibly endearing but beautifully real, and I definitely look forward to reading more from Mills for that reason.

Snarky. Adorkable. Excellence.

I did not want this book to end, I love love love Emma's writing. These characters are so funny and I will revisit their world often!

so wholesome and where’s my Gideon at?!

I love love LOVED this book! If you like YA contemporaries, I can’t recommend this one enough. It had me smiling and laughing throughout. Such a cute book. ❤️

This book was FREAKING ADORABLE! I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this! Gideon was adorably awkward and so sweet and Claudia was the hilarious and nerdy narrator that I needed in my life right now (and always). Everything about this was perfect! And I love that the characters put on A Midsummer Night’s Dream; it reminded me of when I was in that play in high school! Made me love this book even more. Just so much cuteness and perfection in one book. I think I’ve found a new contemporary author to love! I must read EVERYTHING Emma Mills writes now 😂

I’ve reread this book at least four times in the last year and I literally can’t express my love for it in mere words. I was invested in the story, and I loved all the characters (Especially Gideon, Iris, and Noah!). The way they were written way so real, and some moments totally just got to me (I can only think of one right now, but the scene where Claudia helps Gideon through a panic attack hit me hard). 10/10 would recommend.

I absolutely adored this book! The first 4 or 5 chapters for me were a little slow, but still enjoyable and it was nice that they weren't too long. Once I got started though I found it so hard to put down because I felt so connected to these characters. There really wasn't a character that I didn't like, I found myself really caring about all of them, which doesn't always happen. I saw a lot of myself in Claudia, and found it easy to relate to her throughout the book. I loved Iris and her obsession with TION (because it was essentially me and One Direction lol) but what I loved most was the growth that Iris went through. In my opinion she really changed the most and it was so lovely to see how her friendship with Claudia progressed and really helped both of them. I also loved that they were working on Midsummer, which is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays and it has inspired me to read it again.

This book was such a fun read and I would highly recommend it!

I enjoyed this story. It was a couple romance storylines, but they were on the sidelines of the main story which was a story of unexpected friendship.
