I've never read anything by Emma Mills, but I will continue to.
I really really loved this.
Also, I could not stop thinking about the episode from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody where they are acting the play A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Am I the only one?
This was the only clip I could recognize from the episode...

This was so good it made me cry. Like genuinely the way Claudia was written and depicted as a teen felt so realistic to me i couldnt not be emotional. I love love LOVE Iris like shes just so real. loved how Iris and Claudia’s friendship pls it was just the cutest ever. also GIDEON????? HELP ME HES SO CUTE. The way him n claudia were around each other was just the perfect mix of cute and awkward which i ate up like they were just so cute i loved them.

I really appreciate this book for the simple reason that it actually felt like high school. The realistic portrayal of what it's like to be a kid Claudia's age is oddly kind of rare. This book also made me cry which is hard to do.
Pure fun, read on a Saturday afternoon. All of the characters are well-realized, charming but flawed, with great dialogue and believable progression in terms of personal growth and relationship development. I loved that the story wasn't bogged down with sitcom problems (minor misunderstandings that become central narrative conflicts for lack of basic communication), and it felt contemporary without being saturated with specific cultural references.
