this book was very easy and quick to read! it was so charming, all of the characters were really endearing
i mean how do i even put my love for this book into words?? this was- perfect. like p.e.r.f.e.c.t.
Quick read, felt a bit under developed character wise. I liked having to read between the lines but could have used a bit more.
“it’s just easier to never start something than to have to see it end.”
this book has everything you could ever want from a book:
* enemies to friends
* wholesome relationships
* boy-bands (that’s what teenage years are all about, right?)
* awkward real life moments ™
* random knitting & milkshakes
* Shakespeare plays
* witty and sweet writing
it was a pleasure to live in this book, even if only for a few fleeting moments. i would 100% recommend reading this if you haven’t already!

4 stars. aka: the human equivalent of wearing your favorite sweater while watching a high school play and falling in love with the sunshine boy who knows all the lines.
this book? comfy. like serotonin with a side of glitter glue and soft indie music. you open the first page and you’re already under a weighted blanket of good vibes and “omg this is so me” moments. claudia?? queen of internal monologue, social awkwardness, and Not Wanting to Get Involved™. i’ve never related to a protagonist more deeply unless you count marianne sheridan having a breakdown in silence.
and gideon??? GIDEON. sweet, golden retriever energy wrapped in a boy who’s probably never been mean in his life. he talks to everyone, has big theater kid confidence, and still manages to not be annoying? rare. we stan a man who’s confident and emotionally available. literally the anti-red flag.
also: queer rep?? real friendships?? awkward school projects and unexpected growth?? it’s giving 2010s tumblr but healed. it’s giving the warm fuzzies with ✨depth✨.

I read this in one sitting, and it was decent, there were just a few too many things going on for me. The computer games and the play and the band and the siblings... Along with the actual plot was kind of chaotic in a contemporary. Still love this author ❤️

emotional
funny
lighthearted
reflective
fast-paced
