I really loved this book. Very very funny and insightful. I read a few lines of a negative reviewer here who made comments along the lines of how it was unrealistic and this sort of thing would never happen. It made me feel a little bit sad for that person, and then it made me glad that I do not know her and will never meet her. I wish I could visit with Allan (book protagonist) so that he and I could share a bottle of vodka, get properly pissed, and then reflect on how the world is full of regrettably dim and thick-headed people like that reviewer who are not able to appreciate obvious beauty sitting right in front of their faces.

This book is funny and sweet and sad and insightful and just really great. I'm so glad I read it. I hope you love it, too.

A delightful adventure reminiscent of Forrest Gump. While the encounters with significant historical moments towards the end became somewhat repetitive, the overall narrative remains enjoyable.
