Good story and very good plot. Don't want to give too much away but certainly worth a read. I liked the idea with the neurological disorder and how it can be a gift and a curse.

I enjoyed this first novel in the Brenna Spector series. Brenna is an interesting MC -- brave, determined, and vulnerable. The secondary characters in this novel are also colorful and intriguing. The mystery is compelling and took a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Overall, then, this is an engrossing, satisfying read. I'll definitely keep reading the series.

Great mystery! Fast read- will look for more by this author. Lead character has hyperthymestic syndrome- something that fascinates me!!!

Ok, so far this book is way confusing. Not sure I will finish it if my Plague novel gets here soon. I will keep trying if I don't get my other book but there are too many interconnections going on! Geez!

An interesting take on a regular mystery. Brenna Spector is a private investigator that has Hyperthymestic Syndrome. Basically, she can recall every detail about every moment of her life since the day her sister got into that man's car and was never seen again.
Brenna is called into question on the case of a missing woman, but instantly she is remembering 11 years ago, when the same cop was calling her about a missing little girl from the same town, even from the same neighborhood! But that's not where the strange connections and behaviors between the two cases end, and when things start to take a turn for the worse, Brenna and Detective Nick Morasco must hurry to put all the pieces together before someone else turns up missing! Or worse...dead.
The storyline has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, but is easy enough to follow that you won't be lost along the way. The characters are personable, and there aren't an overwhelming number to keep track of throughout the story. And the plot is one that hits the emotions hard: the mystery behind a missing person, whether child or adult, and the grieving family's search for answers.

For fans of non-linear storylines and well crafted suspense, look no further than all of Alison Gaylin's books!

Probably one of the best suspense novels I have read in a long time. It was riveting and kept me hooked the entire time. Though it was the first novel I've read by Gaylin, I can tell you that it won't be the last. The plot was entertaining as well as interesting, and the characters were for the most part likeable as well. This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone interested in the suspense genre. Looking forward to the sequel next year!

I liked all the characters and the story was interesting. It was well-written and fast-paced but at the same time disappointing. I felt the ending was a little rushed and it was missing something. But I will definitely give the next one a shot.
