Beautiful. A book about love and death and aliens. I highly reccomend it.
If you know you like Matt Haig, you will like this. He has such a beautiful way of telling a story. It starts off cynical, and angry. And then it turns all of that around, into beauty, and joy, and hope. I can’t get enough of this author!

The beginning of this book is silly but up my alley (aliens, math, existential dread), then it transforms into beautiful reflection on the necessity of pain and uncertainty and love to being human.

Thought it was a cool idea and cool thoughts but I felt pretty bored through the whole thing
Not a book I'd usually pick up, but glad I did. The humorous yet sincere look at human behaviour is brilliant and really touching in places.

This is a really lovely book, a kind of fiction companion to his (deservedly) very successful guide to surviving depression 'Reasons To Stay Alive'. It's a deceptively simple tale of an alien disguised as a human, trying to blend in as a human and discovering all that is beautiful about human existence along on the way. It's deliciously generous spirited, warm and life-affirming. Really lovely.
