Another enjoyable read with Tessa (our family's closest approximation to a Ramona).

The name Beverly Cleary is synonymous with "Children's Literature", and for good reason. Cleary is a master at this genre. She can get into the head of a child as well as any writer, and never sounds condescending or preachy in the process. This was the latest audio-book that the kids and I listened to and we were all a rapt audience the entire time (and our ages range widely from four years old to thirty something). I was truly much more impressed with this book than I expected to be, even having read other Ramona books. I think this one is my favorite. Really, there is so much more depth to this book than one would expect. This book deserves a spot on the Classics for Children shelf. Loved it! 4 1/2 stars.

I always thought that replacing cigarettes with rolled "smoking is bad" type messages was a clever idea... Now I know where I originally got it! =^_^=

This Ramona book wasn't on my Goodreads lists, but I know I read it. It was familiar and very cute.

Borrowed on Hoopla through JCPL.

Listening length two hr, seven min
