The best part about this story was its location — Hindle did a great job at describing the scenery, making it feel really immersive as I was listening to it on the tube! I think murder mysteries are always a great choice for an audiobook as it can very easily distract you from a long journey home!
Like with other reviewers, I did guess the killer quite early on — which is feat for me as I never get it right! I think this was because it was the only character that had some suspicious behaviour detailed throughout the story. I wished other elements mentioned at the start of the story would’ve got brought up again (eg: fear of large water + how hot it was) as these may have led to some other suspects seeming more convincing!
I think I am naturally quite harsh with murder mysteries as I doubt I’d ever give one a 5 star. Reading more makes me realise how great some of the YA mysteries I read were (like AGGGTM or truly devious).

Standard murder mystery. Easy to read - would be good for the beach. Would have marked more highly had I not guessed the culprit so early on
