This book has been on my TBR for over two years. I don’t really know why I didn’t read it and I kind of forget not reading it sooner. I wouldn’t say that I am the biggest fan of reverse harem, but that is mainly due to a lot of rh being 4-6 books series with not enough plot to keep me entertained for all the books. However, when it’s a standalone like this, it is much more entertaining to read. It was also a very easy read. Nothing too heavy that required too much thought and the language was quite simple. Nice to read when you’re sick.
I liked all the characters and I thought it was very cute when they were “dating”. All of the guys were very swoon-worthy. I could not blame her for falling for all of them. I also did like the elements of seriousness in this book such as Zack’s and Josh’s grief, Luke’s divorce, and Layla’s bullying.
If there’s one person I’ve come out of this book hating, it is Amy. I don’t understand how a principal can say such things about a child that is being bullied. I want to refuse to believe that this would ever happen in real life, but realistically, I think it does. ☹️ I also feel quite bad for Josh’s brother because he seemed like a really nice person, but then he got married to Amy. But then, it also seemed like they are getting a divorce? Idk, that whole plot line was a little bit messy because it feels so unnecessary that Amy would get married just to get a divorce, but I guess it is a good plot line (meaning them having to go to the wedding and that being sort of a climax)
The only thing that I thought was a little bit cringe when reading was the podcast. I think that’s because for me it’s quite hard to be entertained with those sorts of segments in books. If so, I have to be really invested in the story which I wasn’t. I was not very interested in the podcast plot lines, and if someone would apologise to me like that, publicly during a live stream, I would not take them back. However, I am a very big introvert so I can’t really judge the book for that.

Was this the best book I’ve ever read? No. But it also wasn’t trying to be. It was entertaining, relatable and a cool take on romance. I have been so sick of all the books I’ve read recently with their instalove and way over the top climaxes. Overall, an enjoyable read and way better than all the popular Booktok ones floating around.

Umm…like great job showing a different type of relationship but like…how do you marry three people?
Perfect, perfect, perfect!
My favorite tropes combine into a perfect funny romance in Faking With Benefits. Layla is successful in business but awkward in dating. Her three best friends are the men across the hall, and when they decide to help her with her relationship woes, well, they are all in for more than they bargained for.

Death from sickness (past)

God damn this book was cute. I've actually never read a friend's to lovers book. I've been on that dark romance train and downloaded this to lighten up the mood. Lol. I'll definitely be buying a physical copy to re-read and highlight my favorite parts though!! I loved the emotional aspect but I'm a hoe for some good smut and boy did Lily Gold deliver
