ARC review! Heartbreakingly realistic!
When I read the note to readers, I instantly fell in love. The premise is a romance novel of a married couple. As much as I enjoy new love, there’s something truly beautiful reading about something so relatable. I teared up because of the honesty and realness of the fights this married couple go through, but also - how we do everything we can for those we love! A lot of ups and downs, some humour, and some spice (very good spice!). There was a bit of repetitiveness in writing, but since there were so many secondary characters, it was helpful.
“We broke ourselves trying to be unbreakable, to pretend nothing was wrong because we didn’t want it to be.”

1.5⭐️ DNF. I really wanted to like this book, but I just could not get into it. I skimmed so much of it whenever I found myself getting annoyed until I finally just decided to stop reading it.
Jeanine drove me nuts. She was super selfish, whiny, and just expected Dylan to just know what she needed/wanted. Dylan also drove me nuts because he never stood up for Jeanine against his mom. They both acted like they were teenagers instead of the mid30s they actually were.
I am not a huge fan of people who can’t communicate, especially in relationships and these two sucked at it. This alone is a huge reason I could not finish this book. They both kept things (big feelings) from each other and I wanted to shake them. Like come on. And then they try to solve everything with sex? It’s like the only thing they liked about each other was sex.
I will say though, as a mom, I did understand a lot of how Jeanine felt. I empathized with her on many points, and if this book/characters were written differently, I could see myself really liking it and connecting with the characters more.
But unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for me.
If you liked it, awesome! I’m glad you did.

You did it again, Dani! Unbreakable was a unique take on second chance romances. I loved how Jeanine made Dylan grovel to get her back. Working for their marriage to succeed.
So often you see second chances as a story where they've already broken up and then they get back together. This was the first one I've read where their marriage was falling apart but they were determined to work at it and repair their foundations.
One of the aspects I love most about Dani's works is how real they feel. It's not some fairytale romance, it's a couple with realistic lives and goals. There's primary parent burnout, arguments with inlaws, running away to find yourself because you can't pour from an empty cup. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like Jeanine. It's refreshing to read about a woman finding herself, and a man stepping up to take things off her plate so she can get back to her roots and be more than mom, wife, so-and-so's husband.

This book, wow! There is so much that can happen in a marriage, and this book captured all. From all the good to all the bd, from the people that surround you to the once that don't or the ones you wish, they would just stay away. To fall apart and come back together and the process to make it work. Dylan and J, you guys deserve it all, and I am so glad I for to read your story.

I didn’t think the already married but having issues trope was for me until I read this one! The writing and characters make the trope work so well and I love the flashback chapters of getting to see them through the years.
I am not a pro hockey WAG at all, but Jeanine was such a relatable character. The struggles of motherhood, having an identity other than being a mother, carrying the mental load for everybody, and just not being seen or heard is something I feel like all mom’s struggle with at times but especially stay at home moms. Add a move basically across the country on top of that and it’s a recipe for disaster. Dylan isn’t a bad parent or husband, but he just can’t seem to see things from Jeanine’s POV.
I love that this book represented a variety of mental health struggles and also showed a couple who had been together for a while fighting to find their way back to each other. I really enjoyed this one a lot and I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series for sure!
**This book does address pregnancy loss so if that is a trigger for you I would tread carefully. I feel like it does address it in a very respectful way.
I. Wasn’t. Ready.
This book is incredible.
One of the best things about reading is the escapism. But I love a book that tells a story about every day life. The heartbreak, joy, disappointment, excitement… everything we experience in our own lives, but with a hope and determination that is so heartwarming. Dylan and Jeanine’s story was relatable and beautiful, and so well done. The writing is seriously exceptional. The spice is delicious. I will think about this book for a long time. An absolute must read. Highly highly recommend.

Unbreakable by Dani Galliaro follows Jeanine and Dylan as they move to a new city, adjust to life there, and struggle to communicate and express their needs to one another. Jeanine and Dylan are clearly in love with and attracted to each other. They have a wonderful chemistry, their relationship feels very authentic, and the struggles they face are extremely relatable. Unbreakable was well written and represented married and stay at home mom life in a very real way.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a redemptive love story with all of the ups and downs of real life. Thank you Happily Booked PR and Dani Galliaro for providing this eARC. All opinions are my own.
