This book was almost TOO relatable as a 30-something married mom. This book has a great amount of spice and extremely realistic conflicts between a long-married couple. I especially loved that the resolution of the book was not entirely dependent on a single grand gesture by the MMC but that he also showed character development in other ways throughout the book.

The writing is immature. I feel like a middle schooler who read too many books on Wattpad wrote this book.

This is a great story about two people who get married and show that after a few years if you put the work into it can still be a great love story.

I love this book because you don't typically see a book about two people who are married that fall in love with each other and show that marriage is worth it.

Okay so hear me out, nothing against Dylan or Jeanine but this book hit a little too close to real for me.  Definitely READ the trigger warnings especially if you are triggered by child loss.

The parallels between my life and this book were unreal and had me struggling to finish it I picked it up and put it down numerous times.

Child loss is so,earning that hit me really hard and then the way in which Jeanine is just overworked, overmommed, overstimulated and under appreciated….it just hit hard and in my opinion Dylan’s plan wouldn’t have won me back

This book for me was ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and there was some heat but not enough to pull it up for me.🌶️🌶️

This was a wonderful story. Both main characters were having trouble communicating, which was straining their relationship. Dylan needs to understand how much time Jeanine takes between childcare and extracurricular activities. He also doesn't take the time to listen to her concerns and try to understand her feelings. Jeanine has been struggling with her mental health, and moving to a new place and being thrown into a new environment takes a toll on her. We get to see all the struggles that a couple goes through and how mental health can be overlooked so often. There's also a lot of spice and the chemistry between the main characters is undeniable. I honestly had such a great time reading this story. There were sweet moments, challenging situations, and some hilarious incidents.

Thanks to Happily Booked Pr and the author for the ARC!

If you are looking for a book with the marriage-in-crisis trope, this is it! Stop your search and read this book - it's one of the best written MIC books I’ve read.

After 8 years together, and three kids later, Jeanine and Dylan love each other dearly, but are going through a huge life change, which triggers some hurt to surface. We watch them struggle, work through things, and make up in wonderfully steamy ways.

If these tropes are what you’re looking for, I absolutely recommend this book!

Thank you to the author & Happily Booked PR for sharing a review copy with me.

Dani is local to me and I’ve loved getting to know her through our book club, and I’ve read her two short & spicy novellas prior to this (Total Eclipse of the Heart and It’s Raining Men – both amazing!). I knew this book would have significantly different vibes going into the story – it is a marriage-in-crisis romance, after all. But, in addition to the content warnings Dani provides in the beginning and the care that is taken with such heavier topics throughout the story, I found this to be a really emotional, raw, real look into what happens after the “happily ever after” and what it takes to make a marriage work day in and day out. What works in one stage of life doesn’t always work in the next, and adapting with your partner is one of the most romantic gestures out there. I’m so glad we get to see more of these characters in future stories of the Ohio Rusties hockey team series.

Unbreakable is out now - highly recommend if you are looking for an angsty romance with grown adults who are putting in the work to fall in love everyday.

- Second chance
- Hockey romance

I love second chance romances! This is a story about a married couple whose marriage is falling apart. Jeanine feels unappreciated, which can happen in marriages. It was refreshing to read a story "After" the happily ever after. It made it so relatable.

Dylan loves Jeanine, but has been taking her for granted. When he realizes how serious the issue is in their marriage, he will do anything to make things right. His love was so sweet and strong. It did make me tear up a bit.

If you are in the mood for an emotionally powerful book, this is the one for you!
