I wanted to read this book because I love Lauren Asher. I think she is brilliant and amazing. I loved the Dreamland Billionaire series and still think about the Kane Brothers almost daily. I wanted to read more of Lauren’s work whilst waiting for Love Redesigned. I read Throttled and loved it and loved the sneak peek of Liam and Sophie’s chemistry that I was dying to read the next one.

This book has two points of view. The first is Sophie Mitchell. Her dad owns Bandini and she has asked if she can follow him around the world to watch the F1 and do her college classes online. Why does she want to follow him? She is sick of her classes and of bad sex. She decides to make a “Fuck it” list where she wants to do a bunch of naughty things including foreplay with ice. Liam has promises to fulfill all of these items, but he is F1’s golden boy and a complete fraud. He is charming, devious and seductive. Even though he promises to help with the list, Sophie forces him to stay in the friend zone. Instead of accepting the friendship, Liam strikes a deal. One season. One list. One dirty secret. The second point of view is Liam Zander. Sophie is his greatest fantasy brought to life. And a major threat to his contract renewal with his dream team. She's part of the rival team and someone he should resist at all costs. He doesn’t let anyone get close to him since he lost his sister-in-law around Christmas time. Since then, he has shut himself off to everyone including his family and puts on a different persona when he is at work. Everyone is against the friendship. His boss, Sophie’s dad and himself included. Yet, he is captivated by her and the naughty list she created. Screw platonic, he wants catastrophic.

Both of these MCs need therapy. That's the short version of this review. The longer version of this review is that both of these MCs were therapy to each other. Sophie was teaching Liam to trust people again and to be his true self and Liam was teaching Sophie to be brave and to follow her dreams instead of doing things to make her dad or other people happy. I don’t really vibe with friends to lovers but because I think there was a bit of hate and secretiveness, I think that’s what made it better. I know that it got a lot of hate, but Sophie wearing trainers with a gala dress is giving me life, because I would do the exactly same thing and I'm smaller than Sophie. Liam’s story just made me want to hug him for like 65% of the book, I'm really glad he managed to come out of his shell during the book.

I wouldn’t say there are any weaknesses to this book, it just felt like it was missing something and I can’t put my finger on what it was exactly. I felt like it was repeating some of Throttled as they both happen around the same time so I was skimming them a bit. I am hoping that Jax and Elena’s book is going to be good from the chemistry we have seen in this book.

Lauren Asher knows how to write men. Liam’s confession and showing up once everything was sorted was so freaking cute. She also knows how to write Epilogues because I was screaming at both of them.

Dear Liam,
I can’t count how many times I wanted to scream at you while reading your story! 😫 You were not at all in touch with your own feelings!
But thank god you realised in time and gave us an amazing happy ending 🥰

The way Sophie helped Liam grow and overcome his fears was beautiful! Sophie learned to let go of planning everything in life while Liam learned that planning can be very effective. They both learned a lot from each other and I thought it was done amazingly!

Loved the extended epilogue and god I wish Lauren Asher is going to revisit a storyline between Stella and Marko 👀

I wanted to like this one but I could NOT get past the dialog. The number of times I found myself thing "who SAYS this" was unreal (based on the number of notes I made along this line, at least 12). Also, holy internalized misogyny.

Liam and sophies situation with the friends to friends with benefits to lovers was so good and their dynamic overall was so funny and nice to see.

But still the story dragging at some points and again like in the first book the pacing was kinda weird. And i really didn’t like the ‘not like other girls’ trope that sophie was falling in quite a bit. It felt like they tried really hard to make her quirky and it was just so irritating. That doesn’t mean i hated sophie, i really liked how her character developed.

Liam was a fun character but sometimes it felt to much like he was sexualizing her and also that he like sophie because she was so ‘different’ and ‘not like other girls’ was something i found really annoying (also very wattpad vibes).

And one really big thing i didn’t like, probably only because i am german, liam wasn’t german enough for me. When he talked about his childhood and stuff he used terms and said things that don’t exist that way in germany (prom, when he said freshman year wtf).
I also wished he would have spoken more german like just using slang and stuff to really show that he is german and grew up in germany (because at least maya and santi spoke some kind of spanish).
And than when he spoke german like i get what he wanted to say but the whole grammar was just so wrong (he said ‘sie nicht sprechen deutsch’ but ist should be ‘sie spricht kein deutsch’).
Also that he didn’t speak german with his family (or at least it didn’t seem that way) and his nieces (a 2 year old and a 3/4/5 year old) speaking english… it is  possible but it seemed really weird to me.
So overall the only thing that made liam german was him saying that he is german and his accent that was mentioned like one time at the beginning ( also like the oktoberfest is only in bavaria not everywhere in germany and of course it could be like that liam is from bavaria but like still…).

The whole german thing was just really something that made the whole book so much worst for me because it was no accurate representation and so much was just so wrong and felt really weird (to me a german) which really annoyed me.
