Maybe it’s my fault not to research first about the theme of this collection. I was confident after liking the author’s other book “sea of strangers.”
This one is just an obsession for a man! I thought that memories could be about a lot of things, including childhood and woman friendships, but the whole premise of the collection is just some heteropatriarchal romance with a lot of emphasis on “he.”

I wanted to rate 1, but realized this might be personal since some people love this kind of theme. Technical wise, it’s good.

One of the things I noticed is that most of these memories appeared to her as muses.
Another thing the book seem to be pointing out is that in life; no matter how much time a person spends with you, someday they’ll leave, whether by choice or circumstances.
I enjoyed reading this book through my stressful Monday, and like her introduction read, it’s a book worth keeping as a keepsake or given to someone special.

The first time I read this book, I didn't realize I was falling in love.

On the second time, I had realized that feeling and I had expressed it in an 'if' question to the person I fell for.

And read with my own eyes how I would be rejected if I were to tell him of my feelings.

So I buried everything, and now i'm in the middle of the sea, unsure whether I should go back to shore and continue deeper.

This book hurts the first time around.

It connected with me on the second time.

I really love the way Land Leav writes. This is the first time i have read her actual poetry and i enjoyed it. I think this collection may have been the wotng one to start with for where i am in my life but the writing is beautiful.

How lovely. Such a waste of paper, ink, and time. I love her previous books and I thought I will love this one. And why? Why would anyone write a new book and include writings that are already published in the previous books. -_-“

I’m mad that 5 stars is all I can give this book because it deserves way more than 5 stars. I haven’t cried this hard since I read an R.H. Sin book. Lang Leav is by far one of my favorite poets. Her work really tugs at my heart strings. I HIGHLY recommend any of her poetry books to anyone that enjoys poetry as much as I do!! I NEED MORE!!
