As I read the first two books today, I must admit I just read the new pieces. Almost all of them were prose poems and they fit me better than the 'normal' poems. Still just slightly interesting mini stories.

Lyrical, beautiful, whimsical. It tugged at my heart and spoke to my soul. I enjoyed reading this collection so much.
Years ago I had stumbled upon Lang Leav when I was checking out some poetry tags on Tumblr and Instagram. Most of her poems were about love. And that is okay, because love is a beautiful thing. But after starting Memories, the love Leav writes about started becoming repetitive and dull (to me). I didn't feel what she felt and thus couldn't understand everything she wrote. Despite this, some poems did reach out and stick to me. I enjoyed the words used and the overall message of the book. Though I expected a bit more, Memories surely won't be the last Lang Leav I'll read. 3/5.
who?? let?? me?? read?? this?? sad?? book?? while?? also?? SAD???
“There are people I will never know
and their lives will still ensue;
those that could have loved me so
and I'lI never wonder who
Of all the things to come and go,
there is no one else like you
The things I never think about
and the only thing I do”

This collection is so very beautiful. I have read some of Leav’s work so radically over the years, but this was the first time I sat down and read quite a few in a row. I don’t enjoy the poetry in the book that rhymes nearly as much as the free form/prose style selections, but that is probably just personal preference. Certain poems haves me honest-to-god chills as I read, and if that doesn’t tell me all I need to know about the quality of her writing, what would?
The first 30 pages: OH MY GOD THIS IS MY NEW FAVOURITE BOOK
The next 30 pages: Uhhh, okay, this is getting a bit repetitive
The next 60 pages: Dude, maybe chill out a little?
The rest of the book: Might never read that far
My inner literary snob wants to say it was a piece of crap, but that wouldn't be entirely honest. The poems are pretty raw, just like the thoughts in your head. Not genius, not breathtaking, but they do hit your broken little self.

If you've never read any books by Lang Leav, maybe you should start by this one.
In this collection, you'll find many poems and prose that were originally published on her previous books. There's also a few new ones, but not as many as I was hoping to read.
To me, personally, this one was a little boring. I read her other 2 books yesterday and today, so it felt too repetitive to me. I know it's my fault, I shouldn't have read them in such a short period of time. But, man, I couldn't put it down!!
I still like her style a lot, though.
