This story is so good! It’s fast paced with wonderful characters. The adventures are fantastic and are woven together perfectly. The relationships are something to be relished. If only we could all find love like that which is found in the pages of this book!

I've never seen Fried Green Tomatoes and I probably never will. This story was fine but I wish it was only the historical storyline and not the back and forth with "current" time (yes, I know I'm 40 years too late for it to be current, but you know what I mean). The current timeline didn't add anything to the story, and in fact, was annoying as hell. When the historical part didn't even go in order, jumping around back into the 80s also was just a nuisance. Love Ruth and Idgie's relationship and alllllll of the side characters from Whistle Stop were delightful. But yeah, let's just keep it simple.
A quick, generally light-hearted read. Very Southern. I liked that my copy included recipes mentioned in the book at the end.
