This is my third reread of DYD and I was a little nervous to do the audio. I haven’t done an audio from CE Ricci before and didn’t want to risk being uninterested in the story if I didn’t vibe with the narrators. But oh was I wrong for waiting. I mean I guess it worked out since I did the reread before NWIE comes out. I’m obsessed with Aspen and Keene. These two are honestly one of my favorite friends to lovers ever and cannot wait for another reread in the future.

A lot of repeated thoughts.
Promises to communicate, didn't communicate.
Some of the word/ sentence choices were so awkward I was pulled out of the story.

The characters can be infuriating at times, but are still loveable. There was one thing that was a little predictible which is why I gave it 4.75, but it has to do with the sequel so maybe I'll change my mind once I read that.

This is my first book by this author and while it started off really strong for me… that dwindled as the book went on…. And ON.
While I didn’t hate the book by any means, it definitely could have easily been at least 50 pages shorter. The middle dragged on and got repetitive. Also, the author chooses to use such cliche phrasing throughout which really started to become a turn off. Aspen’s angst really got to be a bit much and really found things to get icky and manipulative towards the end.
Also, is it just me or “Don’t you dare” being posed as a question verses a statement had me scratching my head repeatedly. It’s a small thing but it was driving me nuts every time they said this!
While I have my gripes with this one, I am curious to find out Avery’s story so I will be reading that next.
