thank goodness it’s over! first of all, switching from first to third person is infuriating. it was a choice carried from this first book and it worked then but in this one it was confusing. this book put me in such a horrible slump!! amber and jackson went from classic manipulative narcissists in the first book to straight up cartoon villains. everything that mattered was sped through and meaningless details were drawn out. the motivations didn’t make sense and im sick of the thing many authors do where there’s a woman who seems to know things are a bad idea but time and time again does them…. anyways it got 2 stars from me genuinely because i love the author(s) typically and the first book was great this one was just a big miss for me.

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, so I was excited that there was a sequel. But nothing about this book worked at all for me. So many things didn't make sense about this book, other than they needed to be that way to make the plot work. I was ready for it to be over by the middle, but forced my way to the ending hoping for some big twist that would make it all worth it - and I was disappointed to discover that the only twist wasn't really believable at all, nor was it that shocking.
