I had no idea this was a series/sequel. I read it as a standalone and don’t think you need to read any other books to enjoy or understand it.

Definitely not as good as the first book, but once you get past 75% of it, the ending is actually pretty intriguing. I really hated the depictions and phrases the Texas characters had, it’s like the author has never actually visited DFW & only seen the TV show Dallas. Meh.
