Mrs. Parish is a good FIRST BOOK ONLY read. BECUSE in what world would Daphne EVER go back to her abusive ex husband Jackson? He’s a literal sociopath and craves, evilness. And this is all because their oldest daughter wanted to see him? WHY DIDN’T DAPHNE JUST TELL HER DAUGHTER EVEN A FRACTION OF THE ABUSE SHE SUFFERED!?
The plot decisions felt so forced, and unrealistic, and this is not worth reading.

Man! I wish I knew there was a prequel before I read this book. I feel that if I had read it, it would've enhanced the reading experience, and maybe I wouldn't have thought Daisy Ann's involvement in the story came out of left field.
Honestly, it was nice stepping back in here. Thriller series are so underrated. It was nice reading about Daphne and seeing how she's been. She's literally the only person (minus Daisy Ann) that I felt for. However, I will say that, although Amber and Jackson are scums of the Earth (the authors wrote them well), I'm not going to lie; they were not entertaining, especially Amber. I couldn't help but have a part of me sympathize with her. I admire her hustle in doing what she had to do to secure her future. If she were a more likable character, I would've empathized with her. But nonetheless, her actions in this book are nothing less than reprehensible. She definitely deserved what she got.I will say the development in this book is shaky. Like I didn't believe that Tulia all of a sudden turned a new leaf and accused her dad of being a monster just because Meredith told her. And Jackson turning on Amber th way he did seemed impractical to me at first, but it worked for the story.
Overall, a decent thriller read. Meredith is the MVP! I find comfort in reading about past characters. I'll definitely check out the prequel "The First Shot" as well as their new novel surrounding Jackson.I knew he was aligned with some mob group or loan shark as soon as he freaked out about those diamonds.

I read a review that said to read the short story prequel "The First Shot" before reading this and I'm SO GLAD I did!! I feel like it's so essential to this sequel. The order the books should be read are: The Last Mrs. Parrish, The First Shot, The Next Mrs. Parrish.
That ending!!!! It was so dark and disturbingly satisfying. I loved this book so much. Perfect sequel to an amazing book. 5 stars!!!!
