It's a fun and raunchy read that is surprisingly well-rounded for a debut novel. I like how the characters are realistic and quirky in their own ways. Baker even makes Steve a semi-likeable character with his Yorkshire accent and no-nonsense attitude. There's enough plot twists and turns to keep the story entertaining but not confusing. I also liked how well-paced it was. It's detailed but concise including the sex scenes which I found sappy. It was page-turning and had the scandals, the secrets and the lust that comes with celebrity journalism.

The Honey Trap is quite a light hearted read that will certainly get the reader slightly hot under the collar with some fabulous raunchy scenes.

I have to admit I found the dashing Seb slightly too easy going to start with. Having been set up by a newspaper to make him look like a cheating scum bag of a husband, I was quite surprised how easy he found it to forgive the seductive Angel. All is not as it seems in Seb's marriage though and as always the path of true love is never an easy one.

Angel is quite a little minx to say that she hasn't had a wealth of experience with boyfriends. She is a likeable character though who as with many of us, lets her heart rule her head. Working in journalism, I felt quite sorry for Angel, well in fact for everyone that worked under her heartless boss. It certainly isn't a world I would want to be part of. Angel has a good friend in her best mate Em as well as her ex Leo who also works at the paper. I liked the direction of where Em and Leo's relationship went especially as even though their story was more in the background, the personality of these two characters really shone through.
The parts where Seb and Angel basically get it on, wow, if I had been sat next to a window I'm positive it would have steamed over as they certainly got me all hot and bothered. How I wish I could have crawled into the novel and elbowed Angel out of the way and had my own wicked way with Seb. Believe me when you read it for yourself you will want to do the same.

The Honey Trap is a great book that allows you to escape from the real world for awhile and get lost in a world full of romance, friendship and sex. What more could a girl want?

My thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
